Overview:

House churches are an almost completely decentralized group of small Christian fellowships who typically meet in each other's homes.

They have largely abandoned the traditional church model of Christianity that typically involves a large structure, staff, adult and children's educational programs, etc. Rather, they are returning to the first century CE model of believers who met in each other 's homes in an era before church buildings existed.

Their theology, beliefs and practices typically follow the evangelical wing of Protestant Christianity.
