Policy statements about abortion
access by religious & other groups
The Hebrew and Christian Scriptures (a.k.a. Old and New Testaments) are
ambiguous on the matter of the morality of abortion.
||Conservative denominations and traditions tend to interpret Scripture
passages as forbidding abortion.
||Liberal faith groups tend to see the Scriptures as either saying nothing
about abortion, or allowing it.
||Mainline groups tend to be in conflict over the topic.
||Secular groups tend to derive their beliefs about abortion from sources
other than religious texts.
