FIVE FAILED END-OF-THE-WORLD PREDICTIONS FOR THE YEAR 2002

Sponsored link.

Overview:
These prophecies share one factor
in common with all of the other predictions that were to come to pass in
previous years: In spite of the obvious sincerity of the persons making the
prophecies, none actually materialized.
The hey-day of prophecy appears to be over. Dozens of
predictions of the end of the world were were made for 1999 and 2000. But, by
the year 2002, people seem to have become disillusioned at the continual failure
of the industry. Few prophecies are being predicted for 2002 or future years.
Still, such fundamentalist Christian leaders as Jack van Impe seem to still have
high ratings on television.

Disclaimer:
We offer no guarantees that the prophets listed below
actually made these predictions. We have described their alleged predictions as they were
reported on the Web, in newspapers, books, etc. We do not have the resources to track down
original source material.

Predictions of TEOTWAWKI (The end of the world as we know it):
|
2002?: The Last Adam, the only person "who knows how
to have telepatich-contact [sic]" with UFO people who come
from the sun predicts that the earth will be destroyed after the year
2001 by God. See: http://www.thelastadam.myweb.nl/
2002-FEB-15: Monte Kim Miller, (b. 1954) is founder and prophet of the Concerned Christians
-- group of at least 78 adults and children. Miller believes that the
world was created circa 4000 BCE, and that the seventh millennium started
on 2000-JAN-1. He stated that the breaking of the seventh seal and
sounding of the seventh trumpet mentioned in Revelation happened on
2002-FEB-15, the 777th day of the seventh millennium. This would indicate that the end of the world
could happen at any time after that date.
2002-MAR-24: Paul Smirnov, an Orthodox Christian, issued an
Email to media, religious and music groups on MAR-20. It predicted that
God would send an asteroid that will destroy Hollywood and the rest of Los
Angeles on MAR-24. It will coincide with the Oscar ceremonies. He predicts
that most residents of LA will not heed his warning and will needlessly
die. He interprets Revelation 18, verses 2 and 21-23) as follows:
|
The stone that an angel picks up is an asteroid. |
|
"Babylon" is referring to Los Angeles. |
|
The reference to harpists, musicians, craftsman and sorcery refer to
Hollywood film producers. |
| |
2002-APR-14: Mike Keller Pure predicted that a
½ second before midnight on this date,
something called the "Doomsgate" will open. Christ will return.
Worldwide nuclear war will begin about MAY-29. The poles of the earth will
shift, and there will be world-wide disasters.
2002-OCT-26 and NOV-8: Paul Smirnov has issued updates for the
date on which he expects an asteroid to land on Los Angeles. These
predictions did not come true either. He has also prophesied that the
whole West (America and West Europe) is a modern Babylon whose economy
will suddenly collapse in 2002. He believes that the Antichrist should
appear in 2003. |
