Other terms, not related to abortion, homosexuality, or religion:

Evangelical usage Others' usage/term Comments
"Pro-family" generally refers to a group that opposes equal rights for gays and lesbians, same-sex activity, access to abortion, comprehensive sex education in the schools. physician assisted suicide, etc. The term is often defined more narrowly to refer to groups or policies or groups that promote all family types, including nuclear families, extended families, single parent families and families headed by same-sex parents
"Disciplining" children means to use spanking or other methods of painful, corporal punishment in order to correct their behavior. "Disciplining" children means to use various techniques to modify their behavior: reasoning with them, using time outs, depriving them of privileges, other non-violent means, or spanking. Conservative Christians feel that they are instructed by God via passages in the Bible to spank their children. Social service workers are increasingly viewing this as physical abuse.
"Abstinence" and "purity" imply no penile-vagina intercourse, no oral sex, no anal sex, no "petting," no intimate massage. In some extreme usage, they mean no physical contact at all: no kissing, no handholding. "Purity" is not commonly used in a sexual sense. "Abstinence" generally means abstaining from sexual intercourse. *
Condoms They are ineffective, promote increased sexual activity, and lead to more unwanted pregnancy and deaths. Promoted by homosexual and pro-abortion groups, etc., to greatly reduce the chance of pregnancy or STD transmission. Promoted by public health agencies, anti-AIDS groups, etc. to prevent pregnancy and STD transmission. They have been proven to be effective in these roles, when properly used. They make sexual activity safer, and lead to fewer unwanted pregnancies and deaths.
Fornication includes: "premarital sex, but also adultery, homosexual acts, incest, remarriage after un-Biblical divorce, and sexual acts with animals... even sexual lusting." 1 "Fornication" is: "Sexual intercourse between partners who are not married to each other." 2 By changing the definition of the word, one can change what the Bible appears to condemn.
Dating system: BC (Before Christ) and "AD" (Anno Domine, Year of the Lord) "CE," designating "Common Era." "BCE" meaning "Before the Common Era." The new notation was started by liberal and mainline theologians, but is now gradually expanding into general use because of its more general acceptance to persons of all faiths.
Research cloning Therapeutic cloning Using stem cells extracted from human pre-embryos to develop new treatments for many diseases such as Alzheimer's arthritis, diabetes, etc.

"Others" include most mental health professionals, sex educators, religious liberals, etc.
