Persecution:
Pink/rose: 7 Muslim countries execute sexually-active homosexuals:
Bahrain, Iran, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates,
and Yemen. Also, Nigeria executes homosexuals in the north parts of the
country, and sentences them to long prison terms in excess of 10 years in
the south.
Blue: Imprisonment of no defined duration.
Turquoise: Imprisonment for 1 month to 10 years.
Purple: Imprisonment from 11 years to life.
Protection:
Yellow: Laws in place protecting against discrimination.
Orange: "Marriage-lite:" with most of the benefits of marriage.
Lime Green: Recognition with few benefits.
Other:
Gray: No specific legislation to persecute, protect or recognize
homosexuals.
