22 -- the plebiscite that outlawed same-sex marriages in the state and
prevented same-sex marriages solemnized elsewhere from being recognized in

The Norwegian parliament passed a bill that extended marriage equality to
same-sex couples. It will take effect in early 2009. More
2008-JUN-22 to 29: Conservative Anglican leaders hold conference:
Over 1,000 conservative leaders of the Anglican Communion attended the
GAFCON conference in Jerusalem. They rejected the St Andrews Draft Text
of An Anglican Covenant which was produced by the Anglican primates at
their meeting in Dar es Salaam during 2007 as an attempt to heal the
division within the Communion over homosexuality and biblical authority.
They found that the covenant was "... both seriously limited and severely
