We use the acronym "LGBT" to refer to lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender persons
and transsexuals. The acronym "LGB" refers to lesbians, gays, and bisexuals.

From 2012-JUL to SEP, groups of Republican and Democratic party leaders meet to determine what their party platforms will be on various topics during 2012. This section deals with those planks in the platforms that deal with marriage equality and other matters of concern to civil libertarians and to the LGBT community.
