A very brief note:
Why is religious tolerance important to us and our families?
You, and I, and everyone else have two options:
Promote religious tolerance --
work towards a culture that allows everyone to follow their chosen
spiritual and religious path, without
hindrance, harassment, or oppression. This includes people whose
beliefs are very different from our own, OR
To continue living in a world saturated with religious intolerance. We will then experience more
religiously-based wars, terrorism, and civil disturbances,
as we have seen in the last decade in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Cyprus, India,
Iraq, Kosovo, Israel, Macedonia, Nigeria,
Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, etc., as well as New
York City, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania countryside. It should
be obvious to all that the root
cause of the 9-11 terrorist attacks was religious hatred and intolerance.
