Using LoBand.org to view web sites

Sponsored link.

Viewing web sites with a low speed Internet connection:
LoBand.org allows you to view a website without graphics, icons,
burger dots, etc. Pages are really boring, but they do load a lot faster while
retaining most of the information. That is important if you have a dial-up
connection, since many web sites are now designed with the assumption that the
visitor has a high speed cable connection.
It is a free service at
http://www.loband.org. Just enter the URL of the page you would like to view.

This is what the top of our home page
looked like normally a few years ago:

This is what our home page looked like in LoBand:
Most of our own home page in LoBand is shown below,
as of 2007-JAN-20. We added the rose colored background to
differentiate the LoBand results from the rest of this essay.
Our top-of-page logo is replaced by [i-bnrtlogo]; horizontal
dividers becomes [i-horizontal rule]; a Deism banner ad becomes "banner-Belief-God-plus-reas[i-banner-Belief-God-plus-reas]"; a burger dot becomes [i-bullet]

[i-horiz. rule]This web site is rather different: This website
is unlike almost all other religious sites:
It promotes religious freedom, and
diversity as positive cultural values.
[i-bullet] |
We do not promote our own religious beliefs. We
can't because we are a multi-faith group. We try to
explain the full diversity of religious belief in
North America, from
Asatru to
Zoroastrianism, including
Buddhism,
Christianity,
Confucianism,
Hinduism,
Islam,
Judaism,
Taoism,
Wicca,
other religious groups, and
spiritual/ethical groups. |
[i-bullet] |
We try to describe all viewpoints on
controversial religious topics objectively and
fairly. We cover a broad range of topics, from
whether women should have access to
abortion to whether
homosexuals and bisexuals should be given equal
rights, including
same-sex marriage, and including dozens of
other "hot" topics.

Definitions, mandate, etc. On this site, religious
tolerance means:
To extend religious freedom to people of all religious
traditions, even though you may well disagree with their beliefs
and/or practices.
Religious tolerance does not require you:
To accept all religions as equally true.
Religious freedom means that you can:
[i-bullet] |
Without oppression, believe, worship and witness (or
practice freedom from belief, worship and witness), as
you wish; |
[i-bullet] |
Change your beliefs or your religion; and/or |
[i-bullet] |
Associate with others to express your beliefs.1

Our site mandate is to:
[i-bullet] |
"Promote religious tolerance and freedom; |
[i-bullet] |
Objectively describe religious faiths in all their
diversity; and |
[i-bullet] |
Objectively describe controversial topics from all
viewpoints." |
[i-horiz. rule]
Our motto:
[i-bullet] |
"Study of the world's religions will lead to an
understanding of religious diversity. |
[i-bullet] |
This understanding can lead to inter-religious
dialogue. |
[i-bullet] |
Dialogue will lead to peace among religions. |
[i-bullet] |
Peace among religions will lead to peace among
nations." 2 |
[i-horiz. rule]
An observation:
[i-bullet] |
"When some people deviate from reality, others are
often hurt." |

A saying by Mahatma Ghandi:
[i-bullet] |
"The need of the moment is not one religion, but
mutual respect and tolerance of the devotees of the
different religions. |
