We also have a list of religious intolerance news for this month.
Sad to say, these are usually much longer lists.

  • 2008-DEC-21: Worldwide Didgeridoo Meditation: This is a spiritual event timed for the local sunset time and performed by people all over the world at the time of the Winter Solstice. Their web site states:
"It is like a wave of healing sound following the sunset around the globe four times a year. ... We will do this didgeridoo meditation at every solstice and equinox, so we will join our global energy playing didgeridoo four times a year. ... Wherever you are on this beautiful planet on 21 December 2008, please allow for one hour starting at your local sunset time. ... The structure of the one hour meditation is very simple: 45 minutes of meditative didgeridoo music followed by 15 minutes of silence.  The 45 minutes of didgeridoo music may also contain shorter periods of silence i.e. between different musical keys. The 15 minutes of silence please allow being totally silent. And this is only a suggestion: you may want to do a totally energetic didgeridoo dance instead of meditative music or play didgeridoo for two hours without a break... All I am asking for is that you make or listen to some music and then allow some silence afterwards."
