|2009-FEB-23: Atlantis: Claims that Atlantis
has been found: After Google started to map the world's ocean floors, it
was inevitable that folks would search for the long-lost and probably mythical
city of Atlantis. A British aeronautical engineer, Bernie Bamford, said:
"It looks like an aerial map of Milton Keynes. It must be man-made." It is
situated a few hundred miles northwest of the western-most Canary Islands off
of the coast of Africa. According to Daily Tech:|
"Plato had said that Atlantis was
620 miles of Africa's coast, past the Canary Islands. He wrote that the land
was home to advanced civilization before earthquake and floods sunk it into
the sea around 9,700BC ? nearly 12,000 years ago."
