2009-JUN-02: FL: New approach to the treatment for cancer: This is not exactly a religious or spiritual topic, but is momentous just the same. In recent decades, there have been three main treatments for cancer: surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. Finally, after three decades of unsuccessful research, a fourth path has had partial success: beefing up the body's immune system. It is called a cancer vaccine even thought it attempts to treat the disease rather than prevent it. Researchers have had some successes in treating lymphoma, cancer of the prostate, melanoma and neuroblastoma. ₁
