Voters turned their back on Joerg Haider's far-rightist Freedom party
in elections for Vienna's City Hall. Several politicians linked the
loss of support to anti-Jewish statements allegedly made by Haider.
The Socialists now hold most of the seats in the 100-seat city
assembly. |
