2004-SEP-11: National Council of Churches (NCC) marks third
anniversary of 9/11: The NCC reports: "The National Council of Churches
marked the third anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and
Washington with an array of new program initiatives designed to rebuild bridges
of understanding and cooperation that would make such events less likely in the
future. A special Web report takes a look at the strategy. Meantime, the NCC's
Interfaith Relations Commission co-sponsored a September 11 dialogue that sought
to explore the issues of 'religiously related violence.' The Rev. Lyndon Harris,
an Episcopal priest serving at Ground Zero, was keynote speaker for the
Manhattan-based conference." 10
