Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists are meeting at the Sea of Galilee to discuss peace. Priests, rabbis, imams, and Buddhist
monks are meeting to discuss religious conflict and urge their
followers not to use religion to divide people, The Associated
Press said. The Dali Lama, leader of the world's 250 million
Buddhists, opened the three-day conference Nov. 21 at a Byzantine monastery built on the site of what is said to be the
place where Jesus cast demons from a possessed man. Organizers
hope the event will persuade religious leaders in Northern
Ireland, South Africa, Bosnia, and other hotbeds of religious

Christians have performed a wonderful service for Malaysia, the
country's king said. Yang Di-Pertun Agong Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz
Shah presented Assemblies of God leader Prince Guneratnam with
the Federal Award for the denomination's service to the country. It is the first time the
award has been given to a Pentecostal leader...The Assemblies of God
in (AoG) Malaysia ministers to those on the margins of society. AoG churches
run drug rehabilitation centers, homes for orphaned children, and
outreaches for the handicapped, abused, elderly, and destitute. The AoG
has established an AIDS
information and assistance center to combat the spread of the disease.
AoG has more than 40,000 members in 320 Malaysian churches |
