In early 1999-NOV, we started to collect news items which described incidents of religious intolerance. Then we stumbled across a single news item which covered an act of religious tolerance. So, we decided to add an additional list where we could report news items which promoted religious tolerance. In 2005-JUN, we enlarged the scope of this section to include neutral, informational news items on religion, that did not include intolerance, tolerance or conflict. We also maintain news summaries elsewhere on this site, both positive and negative, which are related to a specific topic: e.g. abortion access, homosexual rights death penalty, etc. We also track developments concerning the acceptance of gays and lesbians as church members and clergy. This is reported separately for each denomination. [Comments within square brackets] are added by ourselves. Sometimes we cannot resist.
